Day 17 - Cortina - Cave del Predo

img_1823.JPGAfter what seemed like so little time in the Dolomites, we decided to have one last day there. So up early and packed in record time we headed for a set of 3 gondola’s which took us straight to the top of the ski resort above Cortina. Straight up to 3100m seemed so lazy, but we knew we had done it the hard way the day before, so we didn’t feel tooo guilty.

We scaled the peak, and had beautiful views of where we had been the last two days, which was a some what satisfying experience. Then, after a hunt for the start of the via ferrate we descended down. Linds was back leading, so that Jess could start building up her confidence again from the crack mishap the day before.

But, she soon got it back, and lead the way back to the gondola through the ice^ and snow*.

^Ice - There was a large (if some what camouflaged) ice-field below us

*Snow - It did indeed snow on us…look, we have proof!

The drive to Slovenia was then started. We didn’t quite get there by nightfall, but neither did we find a campsite.

So we asked at what we thought was a farm (well…it had a tractor outside, so we thought we were safe…).

We wound up in a wood shed. With a real life witch’s broom .
