Day 13 - Trento - Cortina

Trento - Canazei - Cortina

Trento BalconyWell, we woke up the next day to an amazing breakfast of biscotti and plum jam. Plum jam that was actually going to accompany us around most of the rest of the trip. Laura had had to go to work, but her lovely parents had breakfast with us. It just meant that Jess and I had to work a little more on our Italian to communicate.

After an impromptu tour around central Trento with its Romanesque church and gorgeous fountain, we started on the long hunt for Via Ferrate kit. Trento wasn’t good so we jumped into the car and headed on north.

Up and over mountain passes and through tree filled valleys we drove, finally arriving in Canazei, where climbing shops looked likely. And indeed we were treated to excellent service, wound up spending far too much money, but prepared for full action in the mountains.
